I really can recommend them! If you are in to choppers and party and all the things in between, you won't regret the purchase. The books are like "Biker News" (Germany) and "Scanbike" (Scandinavia) 20 years ago. Created from people of the scene for the people of the scene.
Enjoy!
1) When did you started to drive MC and when you started to drive dragbike? How did you got intrested in drag racing?
I bought my first bike(Triumph) in 1981, Dragbike I started with resently, in 2013 after visiting a classic dragrace event in 2012.
2) You are a member of the Bengalos MC. What does Bengalo mean? Since when you are a member?
Hard to explain short, It have several meanings but it's from the gypsy language.
Gysies being "travellers" (just like the vikings) we have some things in common, I became member in 1981
3) What do you think about dragbikes? Is it a lifestyle for you? How you define it?
I might not "Really" be in to dragbikes, I just like the old stuff and see how far I can reach, I mainly like Classic's ON or OFF the road.
I've tried hillclimb too with classic bike and one day I might do classic roadrace or classic flatrack. Anything fun on old bikes.
4) Why you choose to race on ice?
Another thing I've tried.....for fun, Ice speed record on a classic bike.
One of the most thrilling sensations i've had on a bike.
Guess you can compare it to Bonneville salt flats ....But on a frozen lake.
5) So you build your own bikes? What does it mean ”to build your own bike”? Choose parts in a catalog and put them together?
All in their own way and from their own possibilities.
In our club we have the advantage of a good workshop and good knowlage.
We also chare experience and good tips between us.
I like to build from scratch myself and feel that building a bike from parts in a catalog is more of "composing a bike".
which in many cases is hard enough, but not really my thing.
6) Are there more people in your club who like to push the speedlimits? You got your own racingteam?
We are three in the club that regularly do classic dragracing. ( www.classicdragbike.net )
On the ice we are a hole bunch that has been running over the years.
7) How you combine your family, work, bike building, racing and the bikerlife? Is it possible to have this think called ”work/life-balance”?
(8-8-8 rule 8 h hard work 8 h sleep 8h fun)
Well, cutting down on sleep I've done for years so for me I'ts more like : 8h work, 5h sleep 11h fun
8) What is your future ambitions when we talk about your drag-racing?
JUST TO HAVE FUN !!!!!
(and of course, running faster...... would be fun )
